Technical Project Engineer (Cyber Security & Cloud Services)

The purpose of this role is to support the technical project delivery functions of our business, to ensure that all client projects are properly evaluated, scoped and delivered in a professional and efficient manner at all times. 


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Meet with clients and prospects to understand their cloud & cyber security needs and map these into technical requirements.
  • Assist the sales team in preparing detailed solution designs including writing proposals, mapping out scope of works, and project plan.
  • On-going research into new and emerging cloud & cyber security solutions that may fit the needs of our clients.
  • Provide on-going advice from a pre-sales support perspective for the development of the organisation's sales strategy.
  • Developing and implementing demonstration, presentations, training, consultation and sales support for the sales team, clients and prospects.
  • Peer review of Procurement quotes 
  • Technical Governance throughout Project Delivery
  • Hands on delivery of projects regarding client infrastructure, network, firewalls, cloud and security solutions
  • Approving and assisting with building out standard Project (Implementations), and Provisioning templates


ABOUT YOU / SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in a senior technical or technical project position in an MSP/MSSP/SI environment
  • Strong communication skills and time management
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • A+, Network+, Security+ or equivelant certifications
  • SSCP or similar desirable but not essential
  • Prince2 or other project management / delivery certification desirable but not essential
  • Solid understanding of common cyber security solutions (EDR, SIEM, NGFW, MFA, Zero Trust, Application Whitelisting/Allowlisting)
  • Excellent understanding of cloud-based business solutions including Microsoft 365 offerings
  • Good understanding of network topology and configuration - firewalls, routers, switches and wireless access points
  • Understanding of cyber security controls suitable for SMB and SME businesses
  • Understanding of the ASCS Essential 8 and NIST CSF preferred

 This is a full-time position working on the beautiful Gold Coast. Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (excluding public holidays).
